Tianjin Tianshi College

Tianjin Tianshi College, formerly known as Tianjin Tianshi Vocational and Technical College, was founded in 1999 with the investment from Tiens Group Co. Ltd, and upgraded to a full-time private undergraduate college officially approved by the Ministry of Education (MOE) in 2008. It is the earliest privately-run institution of higher education in Tianjin, and passed the Qualified Assessment of Undergraduate Teaching and education, which was implemented by the MOE in 2015. Located near the Longfeng River in Wuqing District of Tianjin, a “Beijing-Tianjin Corridor”, it covers an area of approximately 3.2 square kilometers with a planned construction area of 2.1 million square meters. The overall design of the campus of Tianshi College integrates the essence of traditional Chinese architectural culture and modern Western architectural concepts, and adopts first-class construction planning and standards, making it a modern, park-like university campus. Committed to the fundamental task of “cultivating morality and fostering talents” and the aspiration of “serving the country by investing in education” of Mr. Li Jinyuan, the chairman of Tiens Group, Tianjin Tianshi College has been adhering to the motto of “Virtue, Excellence, Truthfulness and Innovation”. By taking “integration of industry and education and integration of science and education” as the key, the college vigorously develops school-enterprise cooperation in education, and now it has developed into a prestigious application-oriented college with the integration of industry, academia, research and creation.

The college focuses on education in undergraduate programs, actively strives for education in prospective postgraduate programs, moderately carries out junior college education, and vigorously promotes international exchanges and cooperation. In terms of discipline construction, it aims at new technologies and industries, gives full play to new engineering, promotes the coordinated development of programs in science, engineering, economics, management, literature and arts so as to build a professional ecological layout of various disciplines with medical health, food and medicine as the focus, economics, management, art and language as the expansion, and intelligence, automation, information and big data as the lead.   

At the present, the college has six schools and three departments dedicated to teaching, offering 31 undergraduate programs and 5 junior college programs, covering science, engineering, economics, management, humanities and arts. It boasts three municipal-level first-class undergraduate programs and seven municipal-level first-class courses and has an number of nearly 12,000 students on campus. Over the past 25 years, the college has built a reputation for producing tens of thousands of graduates who are all-rounded, innovative and well-prepared for social development.
